SHRM announced its Best Companies to Work for in New York 2009 contest in the summer of 2008, and Life's WORC entered in the category of large-sized companies (250 employees or more). We were competing against very large organizations like Nokia, The American Cancer Society, Edward Jones & Grant Thorton - just to name a few. The selection process, conducted by Best Companies Group, is based on an assessment of the companys employee policies and procedures and the results of an employee survey. We placed #9 out of the 40 companies recognized as the best in New York - and of course there were many more companies who competed but did not even make the top 40 list.
Lifes WORC, voted one of the best places to work by New York State Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM)!
SHRM, in conjunction with Best Companies Group and the Business Council of New York State, announced the winners in the annual Best Companies to Work for in New York competition at a gala dinner and awards presentation at the Albany Marriott on April 23, 2009. Lifes WORC's award was accepted by Peter Smergut (CEO) for the Agency. The rankings have been published in a special event publication and sent statewide to thousands of organizations as well as dozens of college and university career placement offices.
Lifes WORC Honored as one of the Best Places to Work in NYC by Crains New York Business Magazine.
During the fall of 2009, Lifes WORC participated in Crains New York Business magazines Best Places to Work in New York City contest. Over 150 companies and organizations of all sizes participated throughout the NYC metropolitan area. We are proud to announce that Lifes WORC has been named as one of the Best Places to Work in NYC. In addition, our organization was one of only two non profit organizations to be placed on the list.
The selection process included a snapshot of our organizations employee policies and procedures as well as an employment engagement survey. The results of this survey were the main component of the scoring system. The results of this process again demonstrates our core values at work and level of dedication we all feel towards providing individuals with an enviable life. It is with great pleasure that we accept this award and hope to build on this success thought the upcoming years.
