Spring Staff Spotlights
With work on developing new homes, programs and initiatives keeping us busy this spring, everyone at Life’s WORC has been working hard to support not just our residents and participants, but each other. Here are just a few highlights:
Medicaid Service Coordination
During the transition process as Medicaid Service Coordination (MSC) begins to change over to Care Coordination, Danielle Wellington, Assistant Director of MSC, has stepped up as a leader among her team. She has worked hard to fill vacancies in a timely manner to ensure that all staff members can properly focus on their case loads, and set a wonderful example of best practices and maintaining efficiencies during the transition. We appreciate her teamwork and commitment to the people we support!
Marie Ferro, Assistant Director of HR has been a dedicated Life’s WORC employee for the past 26 years. She works tirelessly to ensure that the benefits package we offer is second to none, and develops partnerships with the best providers to meet the needs of our employees and their families. This alone is a huge task, but recently Marie went above and beyond her responsibilities to truly make a difference. Unfortunately, Life’s WORC was saddened by the loss of one of our employees, and her family reached out to Marie for guidance about how to handle the transition or cancellation of benefits. She then went ahead and prepared all paperwork for them, and sat down with the family to review all of the documents and steps they would need to take to close accounts, etc. Thank you, Marie, for taking the extra time to support this family in their time of need. It’s a true testament to your character!
Family Center for Autism
Catherine Lamb, an Instructor at The Family Center for Autism, was one of the first support staff members hired when the FCA started offering programs three years ago. Over her time here she has developed into one of the most beloved staff members we have. In addition to supporting a variety of classes, Catherine is also the instructor for Children’s & Teen Food as Art and Teen Glamour Girls, and leads numerous cooking, baking, and food as art field trips or programs that come to the FCA. She always willing to fill in as an instructor too, for classes that range from Yoga & Zumba to Junk Art and Mad Science! Catherine is a great example of the type of people we have on the Family Center staff, always willing to do whatever it takes to make the participants and their families happy.
